Core Programs

The Center for Outreach in Alzheimer’s Aging and Community Health is dedicated to delivering programming focused on healthy living. From research to nutrition to training we seek to empower all who experience COAACH. We are here to support aging communities as they deal with the complexities of Alzheimer’s and Caregiving.

Alzheimer's & Other Dementias

Alzheimer’s is the most common cause of dementia and is a specific disease. Dementia is a general term for a decline in mental ability severe enough to interfere with daily life.

Health and Wellness

Getting older should be about relaxing and taking it easy, right? Not exactly. Exercise and a healthy diet are a necessary part of healthy aging.

Caregiver Support

Caregivers bear the burden of round the clock care, as well as the heartbreak when their loved ones forget who they are. 57% provide at least four years of care.

Education and Training

Education is power and with training, you can actively handle and execute all the components needed to ensure that you are taking care of someone suffering from Alzheimer’s. Although it is hard to think about your loved one’s progression through the stages of Alzheimer’s there is important information that will help you handle the legal issues that accompany the job of caregiving.

Community Engagement

COAACH has a strong history of engaging the community. Engagement is an important part of brain health for the caregiver and their loved one(s) living with dementia.

Research

There is no cure for Alzheimer’s Disease. Research is key to finding its causes, creating a treatment and the ultimate outcome is to find a cure. Research is defined as the creation of new knowledge and/or the use of existing knowledge in a new and creative way so as to generate new concepts, methodologies and understandings. More research is needed to combat the complexities of this devasting disease.
